From the Vault – November 13, 2020

Working two or three pieces that just don’t want to come together, I’m short something to present today.  With a string going in spite of a M/W/F blog commitment, I hate to miss today, Friday and all.  Especially knowing shortly before Thanksgiving I’m going to play hooky for a spell.

I looked into the electronic version of the big oak file cabinet.  “Conversations” has a lot of material in it, ranging from ultra-flash to something short of short story.  Vignettes all of them, really.  Seriously doubting I’ll ever have enough good conversations to offer as a novelty paperback, maybe I’ll just let them go here.

Most conversation pieces are closely drawn from real life.  Real life and being conversations, you know how people chat, vernacular, colloquialisms, vulgarity, and outright swearing are the rule.

This one is brief – 350 words – and it violates the norm – it’s clean.  Not go-to-church clean, but polite clean.  Dates back to 2009 originally.  I’ve touched it up a bit here: Cigar Store.

String or not, I’m taking Saturday and Sunday off.

All of you have a lovely weekend. I intend to do exactly that.

Retired career IT software engineer, or as we were called in the old days, programmer, it's time to empty my file cabinet of all the "creative" writing accumulated over the years - toss most of it, salvage and publish what is worthwhile.
